How Shaitan pulls us back
One of Shaitan attacks comes fro our behinds, as was mentioned by Allah in Quran. The most immediate imagery of what’s behind us is our history. Whenever you go through a day that’s behind you, will never come back to present again. Every experience we go through affects us in some way… It has an effects on the way we think, our emotions and our future decisions. Shaitan will use the experiences you’ve had and manipulate them to attack you. He will use your past against you!
One of the ways that he does is described on the following. You used to be a better person. Maybe you used to be more diligent with your prayers. Maybe you were observing of what Allah has forbidden and you stay away from forbidden things. You didn’t fall into Allah’s disobedience. When you look back, you say that there was a time I was a much better person. I used to feel so much connected with Allah. I used to be much kinder with my words. I’m disappointed with myself now. And Shaitan comes and says that part of you is dead! It is gone! You will never be a better person like before again… this is who you’re now. He will try to make you give up on yourself while the reality is that you’re capable. You have done it before, it means you will forever be capable! Shaitan wants to convince you that you no longer have that capability. He wants to use that idea to mess up with your connection with Allah.
Another thing from Shaitan’s attacks from behind is that he will use the bad experience that you had, and you start questioning why did this happen to me! When you think about what happened you will find that it was very painful. Shaitan wants to keep you there. To keep you thinking about the past. Then, you start saying maybe I am cursed …this is because Allah is angry at me. Shaitan wants you to stay in that hopelessness. Because he wants you to be convinced like he is convinced that you hav no hope on your way to Allah. And to blame Allah for what happened to you! Because that’s what he did.
[Satan] said, “Because You have put me in error, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.” 7:16. And If you look at the life of the prophets, you will know that they have such an extremely difficult life. And they’re the best people that have ever lived. All of us had some bad experiences in his life, it is a nature of this life. Allah has created this life as a trial. The ultimate pleasant life will be in the paradise. Allah said in Quran “لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنْسَانَ فِي كَبَدٍ” (Verily We have created man into toil and struggle) سورة البلد – Al-Balad: Verse 4
Whatever what you have done in your life, whatever what you have reached to. Whatever what you have been so far from Allah… You still have a chance to return to Allah. Ramadan is coming, and this month is full of merciful and forgiveness. Just take your decision! Allah says in Surah Al Zomor “Say, O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.” “قُلْ يَا عِبَادِيَ الَّذِينَ أَسْرَفُوا عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ لا تَقْنَطُوا مِنْ رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ ”
